Thanksgiving Thanks
The American Thanksgiving myth of my youth focused on “The Harvest”.
Like the blessing of a large harvest of potatoes from the garden.
Enough to live through the winter.
Enough to give away.
But the harvest allegory encompassed the wider sphere of blessings.
I knew it then and I certainly know it now.
I am thankful for the days that have been.
I am thankful for the season’s harvest and those with whom I can share,
family and food bank strangers alike.
I am thankful for tomorrow’s tomorrows.
Mostly, I am thankful for y’all.
I hope your days are warm and peaceful
Happy Thanksgiving!
