Batten Down the Hatches
The flow of electrons is under siege here.
Power has been flickering on and off all morning.
Our just-OK system of stringing wire for miles from
pole to pole is again proving to be barely just OK.
And the 2-plus inches of rain dropped on the region
yesterday is now challenging purchase of root to
ground. At least a few trees are very likely to take
revenge and down the wire that promoted their
unsightly pruning.
The wind, unimpressed with my makeshift set of
anchoring bricks, ripped the covers off the winter
garden beds for a better look at spinach and kale.
Fahrenheit degrees threaten to disappear over the
course of the day, heading to zero. So I am on my way
out to argue with the wind and reset the bricks.
